Members of various organizations, along with activists, gathered for a candlelight vigil to honour the 112 workers who lost their lives in a devastating fire at Tazreen Fashion on November 24, 2012.
The event took place on Thursday evening, right in front of the main entrance of Tazreen Fashion, with the presence of relatives of several victims.
As they lit candles, the activists called for stringent punishment for the culprits.
Their demands included the demolition of the damaged factories, the construction of residences for affected workers, compensation for their losses, and the provision of proper medical care and employment opportunities.
Friday marks the 11th anniversary of the terrifying incident that took place at Tazreen Fashion factory.
While many of the injured workers received temporary assistance, they could not be fully compensated and rehabilitated.
They now navigate life with burned and crippled bodies, some forging new careers for their livelihood.
