A cocktail explosion took place in front of the house of the recent ex-mayor of Sylhet City Corporation and advisor to the BNP Chairperson Ariful Haque Choudhury.
The incident took place around 8pm on Tuesday.
Ariful was not at home during the time. He reached home after getting the news. Police officials went to the spot and collected evidence.
Ariful said: “In the CCTV footage of the house, three people were seen stationed in front of the house. Two others present there exploded the cocktail. They looked trained.”
Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) Azbahar Ali Sheikh confirmed the incident, adding that efforts are underway to identify them.
