Police on Monday detained nine Jamaat-Shibir leaders and activists from Telipara, Gazipur.
At this time, three cocktails and some bamboo sticks were seized from them.
The arrestees are Majdar Rahman, 35, general secretary of Jamaat's Kaultiya unit, Shibir unit president Rashedul Islam, 23, Maruf Ahmed, 18, Rifat Hossain, 18, Ismail Hossain, 15, Imam Hossain, 17, Zobair, 19, Jamil Uddin Rifat, 18, and Rahmat Ali, 33.
Basan police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Siddique said that Jamaat-Shibir leaders and activists had assembled near the Telipara T&T Road crossing of the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway on Monday morning and were preparing to carry out sabotage in support of the hartal.
They were sent to jail through the court on Monday morning.
