Gold is now costlier than ever in Bangladesh as the Bangladesh Jwellers Association (Bajus) has hiked the price of 22-carat gold to Tk1,06,376 a bhori per bhori, up by Tk1,750.
The new price would come into effect on Sunday.
The latest price marks a 1.67% increase compared to the previous record high of Tk1,04,626 per bhori, which was documented on November 5.
The gold price crossed the Tk100,000 mark for the first time in Bangladesh in July this year.
