A child was killed and 12 people were injured in a balloon gas cylinder explosion at Kalibari Dakshinpara area in Mymensingh 1:30pm on Tuesday.
The injured were admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH).
Kotwali Model police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Shah Kamal Akand said: "A child died on the spot. Police are working at the scene.”
MMCH police outpost Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Jahangir Alam said: "So far, 12 people were admitted to the hospital in connection with the gas cylinder explosion.”
Mymensingh Fire Service Station Officer Julhas Uddin said: "An explosion took place when a cylinder burst in Idris Ali's rented house in Dakshinpara, Kalibari area, where a balloon seller resides. The blast resulted in at least 12 injuries, and two tin sheds were blown away."
