The driver of a pickup van and his assistant were killed on the spot in a three-way collision between the vehicle, a covered van and a truck in Fulbari upazila of Dinajpur in the early hours of Friday.
Only one of the deceased, the driver, Naib Ali, 45, had been identified at the time of writing.
The covered van, leaving Dinajpur, lost control and hit a power pole on the side of a road at around 3:30am. Meanwhile, the truck, with a punctured tyre, hit the covered van from behind. The pickup, transporting chicken, crashed into the truck from behind, resulting in the death of its driver and his assistant.
Fulbari police station Officer-in-Charge Md Mostafizar Rahman said the police recovered the bodies and seized the vehicles.
They were searching for the families of the deceased, he added.
