More incidents of vandalism and arson were reported on the second day of the 48-hour blockade on Monday, enforced by the BNP and like-minded opposition parties.
The blockade ended at 6am on Tuesday.
In Gazipur, miscreants torched a bus on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway in Safipur area of Kaliakair Upazila early Monday.
Another bus belonging to Nirapad Paribahan was set on fire by unidentified miscreants at Bottola of Bilaspur late last night.
In Bogra, a water tanker was torched by some unidentified miscreants in Bogra's Shajahanpur Upazila. The incident took place on the Bogra-Dhaka Highway in Betgari area of the upazila at around 11am.
Meanwhile, police on Monday sued 55 leaders and activists of the BNP and its associate bodies in two cases for attacking law enforcers during Sunday’s blockade program in Bogra.
In Rajshahi, miscreants set fire to a goods-laden truck at Mougachhi Nandanhat intersection in Mohanpur Upazila of Rajshahi district on Monday.
In Khulna, a bus was set ablaze around 8:30pm, said Md Shahin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Rupsha police station.
In Barisal, police arrested five leaders and activists of the BNP for hurling cocktails during the blockade program in Bakerganj Upazila on Monday.
In Chittagong, a bus and a CNG-run autorickshaw were set ablaze in two separate areas on Monday.
Miscreants set a bus on fire in the Chaturi Chowmuhani area on Monday Morning while an autorickshaw was set on fire and a truck was vandalized in the Panchlaish area of the port city around the same time.
In Feni, BNP activists vandalized a number of vehicles after law enforcers tried to disperse them in Islampur Road Monday morning.
In Manikganj, opposition men blocked the Dhaka-Aricha Highway in Jagir area with logs Monday morning. Vehicular movement was suspended for two hours on the highway.
