Police on Tuesday detained an activist of Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir, the student wing of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, for setting fire to a truck in Puthia upazila of Rajshahi.
He was arrested from Tarapur in Puthia around 9am.
The arrestee has been identified as Abdul Quader, 20.
According to witnesses, Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir activists demonstrated on Tuesday morning to make the blockade called by BNP-Jamaat successful, Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Puthia Police Station said.
He will be produced before a court soon, the OC added.
