BNP men and its affiliated organization have vandalized three buses and set fire to a motorcycle in Bogra on Tuesday.

At least five people have been injured in the incident.

Three buses of Shahfateh Ali Paribahan were vandalized in the Matidali and Erulia areas.

Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and police have been deployed in the area.

BNP men’s presence has brought all vehicular movement to a standstill.

Office-goers and students are compelled to commute on foot to their respective institutions.

Noor-e-Alam Siddique Regan, general secretary of Bogra district unit Chhatra Dal, said they are peacefully blocking the highway with party leaders and activists. “If anyone interrupts, it will be resisted.”

Officer-in-Charge of Bogra Sadar police station Saihan Oliullah said several teams, including the Detective Branch (DB) of police, are working to prevent public suffering.

“If a case is filed, legal action will be taken against those involved,” he added.
