Relatives of police constable Aminul Parvez, who was killed in a clash over Saturday's BNP rally in Dhaka’s Nayapaltan, have demanded justice for the killing.

As Parvez was the sole breadwinner for his family, the future of his wife, daughter and other family members has become uncertain due to his death, relatives said.

Parvez’s family resided at Faizpur village of Nagarpur upazila in Tangail. He had been attached to Rajarbagh Police Lines since 2009.

On Sunday morning, Nagarpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Reza Md Golam Masum visited the bereaved family's home, offering condolences and ensuring full support for them. He pledged to stand by the family and take all necessary actions.

Local resident Abul Hashem revealed that the police constable's residence was temporarily established on leased land. Forced out of their original homes due to river erosion, they settled in Faizpur village of Nagarpur upazila.

While Parvez resided in Dhaka with his wife and daughter, his parents and brother stayed in the village house.

Family members disclosed that Parvez supported his elderly parents, brother, wife, and six-year-old daughter Tanha Islam with his earnings.

Duptiair union parishad Chairman Md Feroze Siddiqui expressed the union's commitment to supporting the family in any necessary matters.
