85 including BNP leader sued over death from Awami League-BNP clash in Chittagong

A case has been filed against 85 people including BNP leader Nurul Amin, following a clash between the BNP and Awami League in Chittagong’s Mirsharai upazila which resulted in the death of a 16-year-old teenager named Rayhan Hossain Ruman.

Ruman's mother, Khaleda Begum, lodged the complaint at the Jorarganj police station on Saturday naming 15 individuals and 70 unnamed others.

Chittagong North District BNP Joint Convener Nurul Amin has been named as the main accused in the case. 

Confirming it, Chittagong Assistant Police Super (Mirsharai Circle) Md Monirul Islam said four people have been arrested over the incident so far. 

After the autopsy of Ruman's body, his namaz-e-janaza (funeral prayer) is scheduled to be held at the Azampur Eidgah field after the Asr prayer.

The clash between local Awami League, Jubo League, Chhatra League activists and the followers of Chittagong North District BNP Joint Convener Nurul Amin erupted on Friday. 

During this conflict, Chhatra League activist Rayhan Hossain Ruman was killed and another 20 were injured.
