Three Jubo League leaders have been hacked by another faction of the youth wing of the ruling Awami League over establishing supremacy in Gouranadi Upazila of Barisal.
The incident took place near Allah’r Masjid in the Kasba bus stand area on Wednesday afternoon. The injured are Kawser Fakir, 30, Raihan Fakir, 29, and Enayed alias Imad Khan, 35.
They are currently undergoing treatment at Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
Local people said that 10 to 12 followers of Municipal Juba League General Secretary Al Amin Haolader obstructed the motorcycle of the trio near the mosque yesterday. They then indiscriminately hacked the trio with sharp weapons on the upper and lower limbs and fled the scene.
The trio was rescued and rushed to the hospital.
Regarding the allegation, Al Amin Haolader told Dhaka Tribune that he had no link to the incident and demanded punishment of those carrying out the attack.
