Miscreants in Faridpur have stolen around 1,500 railway pandal clips, resulting in the temporary suspension of rail communication in Bhanga, Faridpur. The incident occurred in the Nawapara area of Bhanga on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Md Shajahan, the station master at Bhanga railway station, three trains from Rajbari typically reach Bhanga via Faridpur every day. However, on Wednesday evening, the Madhumati Express train, scheduled to depart from Faridpur at 7pm, came to a halt at Nawapara.
It was reported that miscreants had removed the pandal clips from the railway tracks in the area, preventing the train from reaching Bhanga station. The train was originally set to depart from Rajbari via Faridpur at 7:50pm.
The incident has been reported to higher authorities, he added.
Jihad Hossain, senior sub-assistant engineer (SSAE) in the railway's engineering section, stated that repair work has commenced promptly upon receiving the news.
