A broom factory in Bandarban’s Alikadam Upazila has been razed by a deadly fire.
The entire factory was reduced to ashes, officials said.
Local people called in the fire service men after they traced smoke at the factory on Sunday night.
Two units of the fire service arrived at the scene and doused the blaze after an hour.
Abdul Kader, in charge of Alikadam fire service station, confirmed the matter yesterday.
Authorities, however, could not confirm how the factory caught fire.
Local sources said there were two store houses that were full of brooms which could fill up 12 trucks.
The brooms were due to be shipped to Dhaka and other areas of the country.
