A 21-day-old newborn was stolen from a house in Habiganj, while her parents were sleeping.
The family has lodged a complaint with Habiganj Sadar Model police station, said Officer-in-Charge Md Badiuzzaman on Monday.
According to the complaint and locals, Babul Mia and Liza Begum live in a house in Habiganj's Haripur area.
The couple shared a bed at home along with son Rabiul Mia, 3, and 21-day-old daughter Fatema.
The next morning, Liza Begum woke up and discovered that their newborn, Fatema, was missing from the bed. Liza found the window of their room open.
Later, Babul Mia filed a complaint with the police station on Sunday night as he could not find the newborn girl.
The police official said a police team went to the spot after receiving the complaint last night and started an investigation.
"We are working to find the newborn," he added.
