Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit Tungipara on Tuesday to pay tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on his 48th martyrdom anniversary and the National Mourning Day.
The PM will lay wreaths at the grave of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, in Tungipara at 11 am on Tuesday.
A smart contingent of three forces will present a guard of honour. Following the homage, Bangabandhu's daughter, Sheikh Hasina, will participate in the Fateha recitation and a special prayer.
Later, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will participate in a milad mahfil at the Mausoleum Complex mosque, arranged by the Gopalganj district administration.
Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner Kazi Mahbubul Alam said: "All preparations have been completed for the PM’s arrival and to observe the National Mourning Day with due dignity. Tight security arrangements have also been implemented in the district."
The main pillars of the mausoleum Mausoleum complex have been decorated. The stage has been set up for milad mahfil.
Gateways have been adorned with black cloth along the roads of Tungipara and Gopalganj districts. Banners and festoons have been displayed in various locations, and black flags can be seen in offices, courts, homes, shops, and various establishments. An atmosphere of mourning prevails in Tungipara on the occasion of National Mourning Day.
