A case has been filed against 423 BNP leaders and activists for their attack on police during a sit-in program in Narayanganj's Siddhirganj on Saturday.

So far, seven BNP men have been arrested in connection with the case.

On Sunday, Siddhirganj police station Sub-Inspector Mominul Haque filed the case against 23 named BNP leaders and activists, and 400 unidentified individuals.

Siddhirganj police station Inspector (Investigation) Mozammel Haque said: “Seven people have been arrested in connection with the attack on police.”

Siddhirganj police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Golam Mostafa said: "They are accused in the police assault and sabotage case, and the operation is ongoing to arrest the rest."

On Saturday afternoon, the police halted the BNP's program on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway, resulting in a scuffle between BNP leaders, activists, and the police. Eventually, the police used batons, leading to a clash.

BNP claimed at least 50 leaders and activists were injured.

During the clash, BNP leaders and activists threw bricks at the police, resulting in injuries to five policemen, including OC Golam Mostafa. Police detained five BNP leaders and activists on the spot.
