Attempts are being made to arrest the rest of the accused, the OC said.

According to the case statement, four security personnel of RPCL including three Chinese nationals were assaulted by the workers dissatisfied with their salary and bonus.

During this time, various structures inside the power plant, dormitory, office building, Chinese super shop, canteen, guest house, medical centre, two microbuses, and 40 motorcycles were vandalized.

The loss totaled more than Tk7 lakh.

At least 13 workers and security guards were injured in a clash between Bangladeshi and Chinese workers due to dissatisfaction over salaries and allowances at the power plant on Monday.

The injured Bangladeshi workers said that as some of their salary was being deducted in the name of service charge for a long time, they protested about the matter.

As the authorities did not accept their demand, they started protesting it again, which led to a clash, they added.

The Kalapara police along with local upazila nirbahi officer went to the spot and managed to bring the situation under control.

Several vehicles including offices were vandalized in the clash.
