The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 4.2kgs of crystal methamphetamine (crystal meth or Ice) during a raid in Teknaf of Cox's Bazar on Monday.
The force conducted a raid in Naitong Para, along the borders with Myanmar early morning and made the seizure. However, they could not detain the smugglers.
Lt Col Md Mohiuddin Ahmed, captain of BGB Teknaf-2 Battalion, confirmed the matter to the media.
On a tip off the BGB team reached the scene and identified two people at a distance with a sack on zero point near the Naf River. When they were asked to halt, the duo dropped the sack and fled the scene.
The BGB official said they have taken legal action in this regard.
