Bangladesh's first polythene market launched in Moulvibazar

For the first time in Bangladesh, a market solely for the buying and selling of used polythene has been initiated in Moulvibazar.

Moulvibazar Municipality Mayor Md Fazlur Rahman inaugurated the unconventional market on Sunday afternoon.

This unique market will be opened on the Mayor Chattar every Sunday where the municipality will purchase polythene at a rate of Tk50 per kilogram.

In addition, every vendor who comes to sell polythene will be given a free 50-kilogram bag.

The Moulvibazar Municipality has introduced this initiative as part of its commitment to ensuring the city remains clean and tidy.
