The girl accused of abducting a college student and forcibly marrying him in Patuakhali has returned to her own home.

On October 15, Ishrat Jahan Pakhi moved in with Nazmul's family demanding to be addressed as Nazmul's wife.

However, she was forced to leave the home because Nazmul's family was demanding dowry and torturing her psychologically.

On October 12, Pakhi lodged a dowry case with the Patuakhali Senior Judicial Magistrate Court accusing three people, including her alleged husband Nazmul.

Patuakhali Senior Judicial Magistrate Judge Amirul Islam has ordered the accused to appear before the court on December 6.

Officer-in-Charge Moniruzzaman of Patuakhali sadar police station said this case was taken into account by the court’s order. Legal action would be taken in this regard.

On October 3, a case was filed against Pakhi in court allegedly for abducting Nazmul and forcing him into marriage.

The video of the incident went viral, causing a stir across the country.

According to Pakhi's lawyer Abul Kalam Azad, Pakhi and Nazmul were in love, and therefore, they got married.

Nazmul, however, demanded dowry from Pakhi's family on various pretexts, which made Pakhi leave that place.

The two got married on September 28 in Dhaka, but she is accused of abducting Nazmul and marrying him in Patuakhali on the same day, he added.

Pakhi and Nazmul both attended Patuakhali Government College.
