Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh Ameer Allama Shah Muhibullah Babunagari will be released from hospital soon, says his aide Babunagar Madrasa teacher Allama Farid Uddin quoting doctors.
The 87-year-old was admitted to a private hospital in Fatikchhari in Chittagong on Sunday with fever. He has been suffering from various old-age complications.
Allama Farid Uddin on Tuesday said: “Doctors told us that the Hefazat ameer has recovered. He will be discharged from the hospital soon.”
Muhibullah Babunagari became the chief of Hefazat, a Qawmi madrasa-based organization of Islamist parties, after the death of Junaid Babunagari on August 19, 2021.
Earlier, he was the chief adviser of the organization.
Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh former ameer Maulana Junaid Babunagari died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Chittagong.
He suffered a stroke at the Hathazari Madrasa on August 19, where the Islamist group is based.
Junaid Babunagari took the helm of Hefazat-e-Islam in November, 2020, after the death of Allama Shafi, the first ameer and supreme leader of the organization on September 18, 2020
