Covid-19: Mymensingh hospital records zero deaths after six months

No new infections were reported in the last 24 hours either

No new patients were diagnosed with Covid-19 or died from the deadly infection at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) in the 24 hours till Wednesday morning.

Some 101 samples were screened at the hospital’s PCR lab during the same time, no new cases were identified, said Civil Surgeon Mohammad Nazrul Islam.

Meanwhile, 68 patients were currently undergoing treatment at the hospital’s Covid unit, of whom four were in the intensive care unit, confirmed Dr Mohiuddin Khan Moon, a spokesperson of the Covid unit.

In October, 99 people died of Covid-19 and its symptoms at MMCH while a total of 1,026 others died between July, August and September.

So far, a total of 22,072 people have been infected with Covid in the district, of whom 21,496 have recovered.

Bangladesh records 6 deaths, 276 new cases

Bangladesh recorded six new deaths and 276 fresh cases from the coronavirus in the last 24 hours till Tuesday morning.

The latest development took the death toll of the country to 27,834 and the total caseload to 1,568,257, according to a statement of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Meanwhile, 440 people recovered from the disease, taking the total number of recoveries to 1,532,180.

As many as 19,184 samples were tested across the country, yielding a daily positivity rate of 1.44%.

Meanwhile, the overall infection rate in the country stood at 15.28%.
