Bhola Awami League rally calls for communal harmony

Jubo League will resist the communal forces, says Ashikur Rahman

Senior Jubo League leader Ashikur Rahman Shanto has said that the opposition forces, envious of the government’s successes, are trying to make Bangladesh a failed state by destroying communal harmony.

“Bangladesh has progressed much in the last 12 years due to communal harmony. But the enemies of the state are trying to destroy it,” he told a rally arranged by Awami Jubo League’s Bhola district unit on Friday.

Ashik, a member of Jubo League’s executive committee, added: “Pakistan and Afghanistan have become failed states due to communal tension. The whole world has ditched Myanmar due to rise communalism.”

He said that Jubo League would resist the communal forces and would never let secular Bangladesh becoming another Pakistan.

Held on his residence premises in Ukilpara Area of the town, the rally was also addressed among others by district unit Awami League executive committee member Maksudur Rahman, Jubo League central Assistant Secretary Barrister Arafat Hossain Khan, former president of district unit Chhatra League Moshtaq Ahmed Shahin and district Jubo League leader Monir Hossain.

Leaders and activists of the party from different upazilas attended the rally.
