A 24-year-old woman and her two children were found dead at their home in Cox’s Bazar.
Jahanara Jisan was found hanging from the ceiling fan while her daughters, Jabin, 5, and Jerin, 2, were found dead on Wednesday at a house in Eidgaon Upazila.
Police said that Jisan killed her daughters by making them consume pesticide before killing herself.
Quoting locals, Abdul Halim, officer-in-charge of Eidgaon police station, said a family feud might have led the woman to commit suicide after killing her children.
“On Wednesday, Jisan reportedly made the two children drink pesticides. She later committed suicide by hanging herself from a house with a bark pole,” he added.
Neighbours reported to the police after spotting the bodies.
Jisan’s husband Shahidul Islam was at Maheshkhali on business. He was not home at the time of the incident, according to the police officer.
