A teenager died while another person riding pillion sustained injuries when their bike was hit by a bus on the Dhaka-Bogra Highway in the district's Shajahanpur upazila on Thursday night.
The deceased was identified as Shekh Md Sibgatullah,16, a 10th grader at Bogra Cantonment Public School and College.
The pillion rider, Hasan Ali, 20, is being treated for injuries at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
The accident occurred at 10.40pm near the Aria Bazar Dakkhin area when the two were on their way to Sherpur from Bogra on the bike. "The Dhaka-bound bus hit them from behind, leaving Sibgatullah dead on the spot," said Ariful Islam, sub-inspector at Shajahanpur police station.

Locals took them to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, where the teenager was declared dead on arrival.
"No one has been arrested in connection with the accident," the police officer said.
