Two killed as truck collides with auto-rickshaw in Jamalpur

Two people were killed and as many were injured after a truck collided with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on the Dhaka-Jamalpur Highway in Jamalpur Sadar upazila on Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Mintu, 28, and Abul Kalam Azad, 45.
A speeding truck collided head-on with the Tangail-bound auto-rickshaw at 5am in the upazila’s Narikeli area, leaving the two dead on the spot, according to witnesses.
Meanwhile, the two injured persons, Mosharraf, 17, and Abdus Sattar, 75, were taken to the local hospital for treatment.
Jamalpur police station OC Rezaul Islam Khan said the bodies were sent to the morgue of Jamalpur Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
Police are trying to track down the truck and its driver, he said.
