Two men have been arrested over the gang rape a 19-year-old in Dinajpur’s Bochaganj upazila.
The arrestees are Mamunur Rashid, 26, from Sultanpur housing in Nafagar union of the upazila and Md Sujon Ali, 25, from Senihari village of the union, confirmed Bochaganj police station Officer-in-Charge Md Mahmudul Hasan.
On Monday morning, the two arrestees blocked the girl’s way as she was going to work. They forcefully took her to a nearby sugarcane field and raped her.
Later, locals detained the two men and handed them over to the police. The girl then filed a case against the duo on Wednesday.
Investigating officer of the case Md Mahbubur Rahman Sarkar said the girl has been sent to M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital in Dinajpur for undergoing tests.
