Police have detained a young man from Tarash upazila in Sirajganj for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl.
The detainee is Nayeb Ali, 35.
Shahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Tarash police station, confirmed the matter.
The OC said that Nayeb took the girl to his room in his house, alluring the girl to give chocolates on Monday afternoon. Later, he raped the girl.
Hearing the screaming of the girl, local people rushed to the house and caught the accused Nayeb.
Later, he was handed over to police.
Besides, the victim was admitted to hospital.
The girl's family will lodge a case in this connection, the OC added.
