Fifteen foreign engineers on Monday paid their respects at the mausoleum of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara of Gopalganj.
Engineers from India and Nepal who participated in the 60th convention of the Institution of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB) reached Tungipara on Monday afternoon and paid their respects by placing wreaths at the monument of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Later, foreign engineers participated in a special prayer for the peace of the souls of the martyrs of August 15, 1975 and the three million martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the great liberation war, including Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Gopalganj Local Government Engineering Directorate (LGED) Executive Engineer Md Ahsanul Haque, Indian Engineer Barun Kumar Basak, Tripura Engineer Dr Shubodeep Bhattacharjee, Nepali Engineer Dr Hari Bahadur Darlami, Tungipara LGED Engineer Faisal Ahmed and 30 other engineers from Bangladesh were present along with the group of foreign engineer.
Later, the group wrote comments and signed the visitor's book kept in the rest room of Bangabandhu's mausoleum.
After paying tribute, the foreign engineers visited the tomb complex of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara.
