Two pharmacies fined for keeping expired medicines in Tungipara

After collecting the fines, the expired medicines were seized and destroyed

The mobile court has fined Tk8,000 to two pharmacies in Tungipara of Gopalganj for keeping expired medicines.

Tungipara Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mir Kamruzzaman Kabir and Gopalganj drug supervisor Bithi Rani Mondol conducted the mobile court at various drug shops in Patgati Bazar of the upazila on Monday.

Officials of Tungipara police station were present at the time.

Tungipara Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mir Kamruzzaman Kabir said that BK Pharmacy of Patgati Bazar has been fined Tk5,000 for keeping expired medicines, cosmetics, and medicines for chickens. Besides, Roy Pharmacy has been fined Tk3,000 for keeping expired medicines.

He also said that after collecting the fines, the expired medicines were seized and destroyed. 

Besides, they have been warned to refrain from such activities. Along with public awareness, regular mobile court operations will continue, the official said.
