A fire broke out at a factory warehouse in Gazipur's Tongi on Sunday.
The fire broke out at the warehouse of Hossain Dyeing and Printing Mills Ltd at around 1:30pm.
Five firefighting units from the Fire Service and Civil Defence are working to bring the blaze under control.
According to factory sources, the fire broke out in a warehouse located on the second floor of a building, where thread and cotton were stored.
Initially, factory workers tried to extinguish the fire themselves but failed.
Later, as the fire spread throughout the warehouse, the fire service was notified.
At first, three firefighting units from Tongi Fire Service arrived at the scene, followed by another two units.
Tongi Fire Service Senior Station Officer Iqbal Hasan said that the firefighters are trying their best to control the blaze.
However, due to excessive smoke, it is taking longer to extinguish the fire, he added.
There have been no reports of casualties and the cause of the fire is yet to be identified.
