Four people including two minors were killed and two women were injured as a pickup-van ran over a battery-run van on Kaliganj- Kotchandpur road in Koatchandpur upazila on Thursday noon.
The accident took place in front of Kashipur Pouro College around 12:30pm, said Moin Uddin, officer-in-charge of Kotchandpur Model police station.
The three deceased were identified as van driver Solemon Sheikh, 60, and 41 day old boy Rafan Islam, son of Robiul Islam, resident of Elangi village of the area and Robiul's niece Khuku Moni, 5.
The injured are Rafan's mother Rabia Khatun and Grandmother Shiuli Begum.
The accident took place as the pick-van hit the van carrying Robiul's family members when they were returning from the doctor's chamber for treatment of his son, leaving three dead on the spot and three others injured.
Among the injured, one died on the way to hospital in Jessore.
