4 arrested in Bogra over SSC question paper leak rumour

The arrested youths had been deceiving people by advertising that the current SSC exam question papers and answers were being given through facebook

Detective Branch (DB) of police have arrested four youths on charge of extorting money in the name of leaking the question papers of the ongoing SSC examination in Bogra from Jorkhali Hafezkhana area of Dhunat upazila in Bogra.

They were arrested on Sunday afternoon, Bogra Superintendent of Police Sudip Kumar Chakraborty came up with the information at a press briefing at his office on Monday afternoon.

Later, a case was filed against them under Section 22(2)/23(2) of the Digital Security Act and Section 409 of the Penal Code 1860 with Dhunat Police Station.

On Monday afternoon, a Bogra court sent them to jail after they were produced before the court

The four arrested fraudsters are the gang leader Md Salman, 20, son of Jubair Ahmed, his accomplice Raisul Islam, 20, son of Raimen Sarkar of the same village, Ahsan Habib , 20, son of Kausar Ali and Abdul Momin, 20, son of Ruhul Amin, residents of Jorkhali village of the upazila. They are also students from different colleges of the district.

The four arrested youths had been deceiving people by advertising that the current SSC exam question papers and answers were being given through facebook.

A laptop and four mobile phones were seized from their possession. 

The superintendent of police said that the "JSC/SSC All Questions Out" facebook page was opened and pictures of previous year's SSC exam questions were posted there.

Through these posts, the arrested youths used to stage the drama of leaking question papers. For this, the gang used to collect the SSC exam question papers of different years through the internet and super edit them on the laptop to cheat, said the police official.

Those who want to take the question paper and answer sheet were asked to message that page. Those who were interested in seeing the post would be added to Whatsapp only if they contacted, the SP said. 

The accused used to sell fake question papers in exchange of sending money to two bKash numbers. They were being cheated like this for a long time.

After the arrest, gang members confessed their crime, added the police official.
