Two motorcyclists were killed in separate road accidents in Sadar and Islampur upazilas of Jamalpur on Sunday
Anik, 18, died on the spot after a pickup van hit his motorcycle in Narikeli area of Sadar upazila at noon, said Shah Newaz, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
His body was handed over to his family, said the OC.
Another boy, Mushfiqur, 18, was seriously injured in the accident. He was admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, said the police official.
In Islampur upazila, a teenage boy was killed as his bike plunged into a ditch beside Islampur-Dewanganj highway in Jangalia para around 11:30am after he lost control of his motorcycle.
The deceased was identified as Rafiqul,19, son of Abdul Bareque of Ghonapara area, was a class XII student of Guthail High School and College in Islampur upazila, said Mohammad Majedur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Islampur Police Station.
Two friends of Rafiqul who were riding pillion were seriously injured in the accident. Both are undergoing treatment at hospital, added the OC.
