Miscreants vandalized and set fire to the office of Nondigram upazila unit BNP in Bogra district on Friday night.
Belayet Hossain Adar, general secretary of upazila unit BNP, said a group of masked miscreants swooped on the office around 10pm and set it on fire after pouring petrol.
They also vandalized the chairs at the office. The furniture and banner of the office were also burnt in the fire.
BNP has organized a 2-hour sit-in program on Saturday as part of their 10-point demand. The leaders of the upazila unit BNP were not present at the office during the incident as they went to the police station to get permission.
On information, local people had doused the flame before a firefighting unit reached the spot, said Warehouse Inspector Tanvir Hasan of Nondigram Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Condemning the incident, Mosharraf Hossain, former MP of Bogra-4 constituency demanded punishment of those involved in the attack.
Police visited the spot at night.
