Three people were killed following a collision between a pickup and a bus in Doshmile Textile intersection area of Dinajpur sadar upazila on Monday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Foyzar Rahman, 30, Sohan, 25 and Mostakim, 28. The victims are a pickup driver and two of his assistants.
Quoting witnesses, police said that the accident took place when a goods-laden pickup collided with the BRTC Paribahan bus, leaving the trio dead on the spot.
Mehfuz Tanzil, senior station officer of Dinajpur fire service, said that the bodies of the victim were recovered from the spot and were handed over to their respective family members.
After the accident, a team of fire service along with highway police carried out the rescue drive.
As the vehicles involved in the accident were on the road, there was a traffic jam in that area of the Dinajpur-Rangpur highway.
