A member of the Detective Branch (DB) of police has come under attack during an anti-narcotics drive in Patharghata of Barguna.
The attack left two other people injured, police confirmed.
The incident took place in Munsirhat area of Charduani Union of the upazila around 3:15pm on Saturday.
The injured are – Barguna District DB official Md Prince, 30, Ripon, son of Abdul Quddus of Parirkhaal area, and Sagor, a DB source.
The accused attackers are Saikat and his brother Abdur Rob, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Patharghata police station Shah Alam Howladar said.
DB police conducted the drive on a tip-off. When the police were frisking the suspects, Saikat attacked the trio with a knife and fled the scene.
“Police are currently conducting raids to nab the culprits,” the OC said.
