The Bangladesh Army joined the rescue operation in a deadly explosion at Seema Oxygen Plant in Chittagong's Sitakunda upazila on Saturday afternoon that left six dead and dozens injured.
Members of various forces along with the Fire Service and Civil Defence are taking part in the rescue operation.
The explosion took place at around 4:30pm, rattling neighbouring areas and engulfing them in thick black smoke.
According to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) sources, 18 people were admitted to the hospital with varying injuries.
Nine units from the fire service managed to douse the flames at 5:40pm.
The reason behind the blast and fire could not be known immediately.
Meanwhile, a seven-member probe body has been formed to investigate the incident.
On June 4 last year, a deadly fire broke out BM Container Depot, only a few kilometres away from Saturday's blast, that claimed 51 lives, including members of the fire services, and left more than 200 people injured.
