A jhoot (garment leftover including scraps of fabric) warehouse in Deuliabari area under Konabari police station of Gazipur caught fire Tuesday evening.
Later, four firefighting units managed to bring the fire under control after almost three hours at 9:15pm, Abdullah Al Arefin, deputy assistant director of Gazipur Fire Service and Civil Defence control room, confirmed the information.
He said that a fire broke out in the evening in a jhoot warehouse in Deuliabari area. The fire soon spread to the neighbouring warehouses. Locals tried to put out the fire but failed. Two units of Gazipur Fire Service, one unit of Kashimpur Fire Service and one unit of DBL Fire Service reached the spot and started dousing the fire.
The cause of the fire is not known. No casualty has been reported yet.
