Members of the Animal Lovers group have rescued an endangered falcon in Kuakata under Kalapara upazila of Patuakhali.
The bird had some bruises on its left wing when it was rescued from a wetland in Tulatali at noon on Tuesday.
Ariful Islam, a member of the Animal Lovers Kalapara branch, said the hawk had been fighting with a dog over food.
“We rescued it when it was slightly injured,” he said, adding that the bird would be released in the forest after first aid.
Abul Kalam, range officer at the Forest Department's Mahipur office, said an official had been sent to the spot, and that steps were being taken to free the rescued animal.
