Four pieces (one hali) eggs donated for the development of Singair cemetery in Manikganj was sold for Tk10,000 through an auction.
These eggs were auctioned at the annual Waz Mahfil held Saturday night under the initiative of the upazila's Charigram union Central Cemetery and Eidgah Ground members.
Khatib Mufti Ashek Elahi of Hemayetpur Zainabia Mosque was present as a special speaker in the Waz Mahfil.
He appealed to the residents who attended the ceremony for the development of the cemetery. At the time, a person donated four eggs, for the development of the cemetery.
Then Mufti Ashek officially auctioned the eggs on the stage. While some offered Tk200-1000, one person named Hasan Bepari raised the price of four eggs by Tk10,000.
Hasan Bepari told Dhaka Tribune that buying the eggs was not the main objective; his main goal was to be part of cemetery development.
