A Satkhira journalist, Raghunath Kha, who was picked up by law enforcers in plainclothes, has been shown arrested in two cases filed under the Explosive Substances Act, 1908 and the Special Powers Act, 1974.
According to officers at the Debhata police station, where the cases were filed, two other people were also detained with Raghunath.
Officer-in-Charge of (OC) Sheikh Obaidullah said three people including Raghunath were held during a bomb blast in Debhata's Khalishakhali on Monday evening.
“Objects resembling cocktails were recovered from them,” the OC said.
Raghunath's wife Supriya Rani Kha said at around 10am on Monday her husband was picked up near the Day Night College area.
“He Khan went to Khalishakhali area in Debhata on a rented motorcycle to collect information for a piece of news. We went to Debhata police station at night but they did not allow us to meet him,” she added.
Meanwhile, the motorcycle driver, Abdul Kuddus, said that Raghunath took some photos in the Khalishakhali area, and went for groceries at a local bazar.
“When we were returning, some law enforcers took him,” he added.

In this regard, Manabadhikar Shongskriti Foundation, a human rights organization headed by noted activist Sultana Kamal, expressed deep concern over the incident and demanded the immediate release of Raghunath Kha, reports UNB
Addressing the role of journalists in taking the country forward, the human rights organization demanded his immediate release.
