A person was killed and around 15 were injured in a head-on collision between two buses on Dhaka-Barisal highway in Kashipur area of Barisal on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Md Kalam, the driver of the SR Paribahan bus.
Lokman Hossain, inspector of Airport Police Station, confirmed the matter.
Dhaka TribuneThe accident took place when the Barisal-bound ‘Islam Paribahan' bus crashed into a Swarupkathi -bound ‘SR Paribahan' bus at about 3:30 pm, leaving the driver dead on the spot and 15 others injured, said the inspector.
The injured passengers have been admitted to Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital, said the police official.
Vehicular movement halted for some time on the highway following the accident.
Both buses involved in the accident have been seized, he added.
