Police on Sunday detained the headmaster and the office assistant of Sarabdipur Primary School in Satkhira for allegedly sexual harassing students.
The detainees are - head teacher Ashraful Islam, 45 and office assistant Saiful Islam, 35.
In this incident, the father of a third grader who was sexually assaulted in that school filed a written complaint against the duo on Sunday.
According to the complaint , the student's parents said that after joining the school, the much-discussed head teacher of the upazila Ashraful Islam His office has been sexually harassing students of various classes with the help of Saiful Islam for a long time.
Hence, the student's parents also informed the school's managing committee president Saiful Islam about the matter.
In this regard, On Sunday, during the school managing committee meeting, the parents and other guardians got infuriated when the managing committee proposed that the headmaster and his assistant should be fined and spared over these incidents.
At that time, the agitated parents and residents blocked the headmaster and the office in the school and reported to the police station. Later sub-inspectors Morshed, Bulbul and Milon Ghosh went to the spot
Kaliganj police station Sub-Inspector Morshed said that two people were held and brought to the police station based on the complaint. Necessary legal action will be taken later.
