Two held for attempting to rape schoolgirl in Manikganj

Two men have been sent to court on Saturday for their alleged involvement in attempting to rape a fifth grader girl on Friday in Singair upazila of Manikganj.
The two arrestees are Sumon Hossain, 30, and Arshadul Islam, 30.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Singair police station Safiqul Islam Molla confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
The girl left her home on Friday at about 7pm when Arshadul and Sumon attempted to rape her.
The two men fled the scene after the girl called for help and the neighbours and family members showed up.
The victim's father said that they informed the police of the local Shantipur Baghuli investigation centre.
Inspector Sheikh Mohammad Abu Hanif of Shantipur Baghuli Investigation Centre said that the two men were arrested during the raid Friday night. They were later handed over to Singair police station.
