A 27-year-old youth went missing after he jumped into the Meghna River being chased by police in Daulatkhan upazila of Bhola.
The missing person is Noman, 27, and he was not found till Friday night. He was a laborer at Patarkhal ghat.
Two constables of Daulatkhan police station Md Russel and Md Sajib have been suspended on Thursday and Daulatkhan police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Swarup Kanti Pal and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Md Sohail Rana have been suspended on Friday over the incident.
Noman was allegedly gambling with some locals named Ismail, Faruk, and Rubel, according to police and witnesses.
Noman and the other three dove into the Meghna River on Thursday to escape from the police, when they noticed them nearby.
Noman drowned, but the rest managed to swim ashore.
