Police recovered the bodies of two brothers from an abandoned room of Bhawanipur Government Primary School in Birol upazila of Dinajpur on Friday morning.
The deceased are Rimon, 7, and Imran, 3, sons of Shariful Islam of village Shankarpur Ghorani of Biral municipality.
Locals informed the police after seeing the bodies lying in the abandoned room of the school. At that time, a bottle of poison was found lying outside the room.
Police filed a report on the condition of the body. Preparations are underway to send it to the hospital for post-mortem.
The grandmother of the deceased said: “Since yesterday (Thursday) evening, my son and two grandsons could not be found. This morning my son called and said that if I want to see my grandchildren I should go to the school. Later, I went there and saw the bodies of my grandsons.”
Confirming the matter, Birol police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Fakhrul Islam said that the father of the two murdered children could not be found. The police are investigating the matter.
