Faridpur bus owners warn of strike on Nov 11, 12

Faridpur transport owners and workers on Tuesday announced that there will be a transport strike in Faridpur from 6am on November 11 to 8 pm on November 12 if their demand for the suspension of three-wheelers from highway is not met.

BNP is scheduled to hold a divisional rally in Faridpur on November 12.

A letter, signed by District Owners and Workers Oikya Parishad General Secretary Golam Md Nasir, seeking the implementation of their demands was handed over to Deputy Commissioner Atul Sarkar at around 1 pm on Monday.

Shama Obaid, organizing secretary (Dhaka Division) of BNP and the coordinator of BNP's mass rally, said: "We know that they will not allow the bus to run, so we are preparing."

Shama Obaid said: “Whether the transport strike is called directly or indirectly, our experience in the last five rallies is that they will stop the buses before our rally and on the day of the rally. It was done everywhere. They do not care about people's sufferings People's suffering, their concern is to put the BNP in trouble. But it won't work anymore.”

General Secretary of District Microbus Labor Union, Milan Bepari said: "We don't know that there will be strike on November 11 and 12 or that microbuses will not be run. We have not received any instructions in this regard from any leader or administration in oral or written form. So we plan to continue movement on those two days.”
