Woman killed by train at Tongi

A woman was killed on Monday as a train hit her near Tongi Railway Station in Gazipur on Tuesday. The woman was identified as Monoara Begum, 44, hailed from Tarail upazila of Kishoreganj district. The incident took place on Dhaka-Tongi rail line in Notun Bazar area around 7:30am, reports BSS. Sub-Inspector of Tongi Railway police camp Md Saiful Islam said the woman was walking along the train line this morning. Suddenly, a train hit her, leaving her dead on the spot. Police recovered her body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. A case was filed regarding the incident.
